Runtastic Steps - Pedometer App Reviews

Great idea, poor execution

Just bought a Runtastic Orbit to go with the app. Orbit works pretty well, however the app is awful. The app is constantly frozen (Ive deleted it and reinstalled it multiple times). Also, a little disappointed I paid $120 for the Orbit device only to discover I have to pay an additional $50 a year to see my stats. I would hope moving forward that would be a feature for products purchased, but Im not expecting much since the all mighty dollar is involved in this decision. Also, the sleep data in Me needs to be similar to the Runtastic sleep app. I should be able to record activities during day to see the impact they have on my sleeping habits. I could see this being added in the future, but probably for an additional 49.99. Due to the bugs and experience, I give this app 1 out of 5 stars.

Changes needed!

Based on my experiences with fitness wearables and smartwatches: dont get a Runtastic Orbit; get a Pebble Time, an iOS-compatible smartwatch at the same price point. On a Pebble, you can order an Uber, track sports scores, reply to text messages, track fitness, control music as you work out, and do just about everything with over 8000 apps to choose from. ----- Review of this app: After spending $100 on Orbit, Runtastic asks you to spend $49.99 a year more to "Go Gold" in this app and get history and more goals. (Are you kidding, Runtastic? Misfit, your rival, has this for free AND their tracker is only $19!) Some things you need to improve: —Happy tracking is pointless. But one really needed thing is sports tracking: how about when I double-click orbits button, without my phone needed, it gives me options to track sports like tennis, basketball, soccer, cycling, etc. —The Garmin Vívosmart, at a similar price point, gives you notifications (calls, emails, texts, calendar) right at your wrist. This doesnt. With the Orbits large screen, this seems easily possible. Just have Orbit connected to your phone in the background! And yes, iPhone users want this too!!! —I really would like to see the date and the seconds on my Orbit! Fitbit offers customizable watch faces. But not you! — Sleep data doesnt sync to Sleep Better (I cant even use my orbit to track my sleep, then sync it to Sleep Better!). — Please (please please) update the firmware and add customization of the watch face and a feature where Orbit is always connected in the background and weather, sports scores, calendar events, notifications, etc. always appear on my band! This is big. — I really want to go "Gold," and $10 a year seems fair. But $50?!?! Bad Bug! — The days of the week are wrong as you slide back to previous days data. You can fix that! Fix those bugs and add those features fast and Ill up my rating to 5 stars! You can just copy what Fitbit has done and youll improve...

Still tweaks needed.

Well at least this update counts my steps, and fairly accurately when compared to Apple healths steps. However, something as simple as dates are wrong.

Great app

This is a great app it tracks your steps and sets a goal for you on how many step you should walk a day. And when you reach that goal it feels soo great! Give this app a try. It might help you loss weight.

Useless at this point

His app is useless in its current state. The other Runtastic Apps shows they can do better. This app appears to only have the ability to upload to Apple Health. It doesnt have the ability to sync or read. Since the data is severely flawed I have no choice but to not give it permissions to upload to Apple Health. I logged nothing and the calorie count read 945 for some reason?? I will keep the app on my phone for now and try back after Ive seen some updates but I have to give it the lowest rating possible.
